Local History!
Since 1941 our mission and focus has always been the same - serving the needs of Fort Sill soldiers. Early on we served the single soldiers through dances and social events as an Armed Service YMCA/USO. Today we cater to the needs of junior enlisted families through programs and services that make their service experience at Fort Sill an enjoyable one. Come visit with us and see how we can make your stay in Lawton Fort Sill an enjoyable one, too!

National History!
The Armed Services YMCA has served members of our military continuously for more than 140 years. ASYMCA service to the military began in 1861, when dedicated volunteers went to Civil War battlefields and prisoner-of-war camps bringing food, drink, and comfort. Relief agencies, such as the Red Cross, did not exist yet and the military chaplaincy was in its infancy.

By the time the United States entered World War I, the ASYMCA was mobilizing a massive program of morale and welfare services for the military, both overseas and here at home. The Armed Services YMCA has continued that work - without interruption - to the present day.

Typically the Armed Services YMCA serves more than 500,000 deserving people at its 29 different branches and outreach centers.
